useradd -u 220 -g tomcat -c "Tomcat" -r -d /usr/local/tomcat -s "/sbin/nologin" tomcat
cd /usr/local/
wget http://apache.downlod.in/tomcat/tomcat- ... .28.tar.gz
cd /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-5.0.28
tar xzvf jakarta-tomcat-5.0.28
chown -R tomcat:tomcat /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-5.0.28
ln -s /usr/local/jakarta-tomcat-xxx /usr/local/tomcat
CATALINA_HOME=/usr/local/tomcat
usr/local/tomcat/bin/startup.sh

First u need to install jdk (Depending on version which you want) and you will get it here:
http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Then download apache tomcat and just untar it.
Download link: http://tomcat.apache.org/download-55.cgi
Then go to bin folder and start tomcat.
That time you need to set JAVA_HOME PATH which you can set as follows:
When u ll install jdk check java path using which java command
Then if u get java path as : /usr/bin/java
Then set JAVA_HOME Path using below command:
Export JAVA_HOME=/usr
Then start tomcat as follows:
./bin/startup.sh
./bin/Catalina.sh start
